Needs and Care of Home Patients with Chronic Disease

Abstract
The purpose of this study of this study was to identify the need and care of patients with chronic disease. Subjects were sixty patients received home care service. The questionnaire developed by Garrad was measured the need and care of home patients. There was composed of 27 items and having 3 scale. Data was analysed as mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson¡¯s correlation by SAS program.
The results of this study were as follows:
1) Among the home care needs, directive care need was showen the highest mean score. The mean score of informative care needs was similar to its emotional care need.
2) Among the care provided home care nurse, the mean score of directive care was the highest. Informative care and emotional care were similar to as mean score.
3) Correlation coefficents between needs and care of home patients with chronic disease on informative care, directive care, and emotional care were 0.41, 0.25, 0.62, respectively.
4) According to primary care-giver, there was a significant differences on informative care need. Also by the diagnosis of the subject, there was a significant differences on informative care need and emotional care need.
